Male Form
Today, I am going back to the medium of photography and am working on a set of photographs of the male form. Just like my female form set. Instead of choosing a male model with what society believes as the perfect male body, I have chosen a model with a body more like reality.
My photos are is similar to the female ones, showing the skin, the sides of the body and the flaws on the surface of the skin.
Ron Mueck
Mueck's sculpture work is in response to the human body, a style known as hyperrealism. It takes over a year to create every one of his sculptures.
The response to the human body is very private and often not spoken about. The work surrounds hidden thoughts and feelings.
There is a feeling of sanity and insanity that comes with Mueck's work, the lifelike nature of the sculptures he creates. He is a master at forming expression within the bodies he creates, giving them a authentic feeling. Its important to show these feelings through the body language of a person, I hope to capture that in my photos what he captures in his sculptures.
